Under the Labor Act 2017, workers in Nepal are entitled to various types of leave and holidays. These include: 13 public holidays, 1 day off per week, 12 days of casual leave, 18 days of sick leave, and 30 days of paid annual leave after completing one year of service. Additionally, maternity leave (98 days with 60 days paid) and paternity leave (15 days paid) are also granted. Festival leave up to 3 days can be taken based on personal religious practices. Unused leave can often be carried forward or compensated.
