UNI Nepal Liaison Council is happy to welcome you to this page. As a service sector trade union council in Nepal, UNI/NLC has established a unique platform for all. We’ve been part of this network for 12 years, and we’re steadily growing.

Currently, we have 17 affiliates representing over 100,000 members from more than 100 unions across 10 trade sectors in Nepal. Our 5th National Conference has recently concluded, electing leadership for the next four years.

As a trade union, we uphold values of unity, solidarity, and constructive engagement, including dialogue with employers and their associations when necessary. We are always open to resolving workplace and worker-related issues through dialogue, emphasizing mutual respect between workers and management. We firmly believe that without union recognition, peaceful industrial relations cannot exist. Hence, the ultimate goal of our trade union is to recognize workers’ rights and engage in peaceful dialogues for win-win negotiations in the workplace.

In 2010, at the Nagasaki World Congress, UNI/NLC received the UNI Global Peace Award, and in 2011, we were honored with the UNI Global Award on Breaking Through in Organizing, presented to the Financial Institute Employees Union of Nepal (FIEUN), one of our major affiliates.

Starting this year, UNI has launched the Cross Sectoral Organizing campaign. Once again, on behalf of UNI/NLC, I heartily welcome all of you to join us in this mission, emphasizing unity and solidarity. Together, we can work towards a brighter future for workers. Thank you for being part of this vital journey.
