UNI Nepal organized a discussion on women’s issues in the workplace, and the importance of gender policies to achieve equality for all. The event was held on March 11, 2023, and attended by around 45 participants from the environment and cleaning sector, along with workers from a ride-sharing platform. The session focused on women’s empowerment and creating a safer world of work, particularly in mitigating gender-based violence and forming a gender policy at their union.
The participants highlighted the significance of gender policies in creating a safe and supportive workplace for all genders, eliminating gender-based biases, and fostering diversity and inclusivity. Gender equality continues to be a vital issue globally, and the session emphasized the need to ensure that workplaces promote equal opportunities and provide an environment where everyone can thrive and achieve their full potential.
The event was a great learning opportunity for all the participants, who left with a better understanding of the importance of gender policies in achieving equality in the workplace. The discussion was a step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive workplace for all, regardless of gender.
