On March 4, 2023, UNI Nepal hosted a special event to honor International Women’s Day, which is celebrated annually on March 8. The event was held at Alfa House and was attended by approximately 50 women who work in the environmental and cleaning sectors, as well as those who work on an app-based platform.
The focus of the event was to celebrate the leadership of women and to discuss some of the small changes that can have a significant impact on personal and professional lives. The event was a tremendous success, with participants sharing their experiences and insights into women’s leadership and the use of technology to promote gender equality.
The United Nations’ theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality.” This theme is designed to highlight the role of technology in promoting gender equality and empowering women to achieve their full potential.
The event organized by UNI Nepal was a fitting tribute to the spirit of International Women’s Day, and the participants left the event feeling inspired and motivated to continue fighting for women’s rights and empowerment. The use of the hashtags #IWD2023 #DigitALL #WomenInLeadership served to amplify the message of the event and inspire others to join the cause of gender equality.
